To be able to survive in the Temperate Grasslands the animals needed to be able to adapt to their environment. For example some of the animals with paws can dig burrows to protect themselves from predators. Many of the animals have a fur that helps them blend in with their environment to also help them survive from predators. A lot of animals are grazers and eat grasses and they have a unique digestive system to be able to process the grasses. Animals like the prairie dog, wolves, mice, and owls are nocturnal or active at night. It can help them by either hiding from predators or finding prey easier. Lastly, the animals have to adapt to the low amount of rain.
